MIECHUNKA - REGENERATION, POTASSIUM + IRON
Physalis peruviana is a fruit native to the high-altitude regions of Peru. However, the plant can also be found in Brazil and other very warm countries, including Ecuador, Colombia, Australia, and Hawaii. In Europe, you can buy physalis as dried fruit.
These fruits are naturally gluten-free and suitable for vegans. Physalis satisfies your craving for traditional sweets.

Discover physalis fruits
Physalis fruits are a rich source of dietary fiber and contain vitamin C, niacin, and iron, among other nutrients that help reduce tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin C also helps maintain a normal immune system. The potassium found in physalis helps maintain normal muscle and nervous system function.
Physalis fruits in your diet
You can make delicious jam from fresh physalis fruits. Dried sweet-and-sour fruits pair perfectly with morning yogurt and oatmeal. You can add them to desserts and salads or eat them as a snack. Dried physalis also pairs well with savory dishes, such as curry chicken, spicy couscous, and roast duck (add the fruit to the sauce).

You didn't know this…
Although dried physalis looks and tastes like berries, it is more closely related to tomatoes than, for example, raspberries. Fresh physalis resembles small yellow cherry tomatoes and belongs to the same plant family. It is only after drying that its taste becomes similar to that of berries.
The French name for physalis, "amour en cage," means "love in a cage" and refers to the appearance of the fruit (the yellow fruit is "enclosed" in a paper-like husk).
